Expertise

The product.
And the design office.

Behind the sensor and the VizO platform sits one engineering team: electronics, embedded systems, embedded artificial intelligence, instrumentation, IoT, data processing and water treatment. We put that competence to work beyond our own product, too.

Two ways to work with us

An off-the-shelf platform. Or a bespoke engineering team.

Drop! sells a sensor platform and software. But the competence that made them possible (electronics, embedded AI, instrumentation, data) doesn’t stop at our own product. We also engage it as a design office, for projects beyond our catalogue: technical audits, proofs of concept, co-development, industrialisation.

Your project has nothing to do with water? The same competence applies elsewhere: water is our first proving ground, not our only limit.

We manufacture what we sell

Our sensor is industrialised, produced in series and deployed in the field. Not a lab prototype. The competence is proven, not theoretical.

One full stack, end to end

From the electrode to the dashboard: electronics, firmware, embedded AI, radio, software platform. One point of contact across the whole chain.

Fluency in the water sector

Regulatory frameworks, operating constraints, multiple matrices: a sector fluency a generalist design office doesn’t have.

The competences

Six building blocks, one team.

Each competence can be engaged alone or combined: as they are, combined, on our own platform.

01 · HW

Electronics

Designing the board that carries the measurement: analogue and digital architecture, component choice, power.

  • Multilayer boards, designed for series production rather than a single prototype
  • Modular power: mains, solar, long-life battery
  • Integration of low-noise analogue sensors (electrochemistry, MEMS)
  • Field-hardened packaging: composite, sealing, acoustic conduction

Already in production

The 55 mm disc that carries our three capabilities is our own proof: common, industrialised electronics, in series production.

02 · FW

Embedded systems

Running reliable software on constrained electronics: memory, power, intermittent connectivity.

  • Low-level firmware, power and sleep-mode management
  • Field robustness: built for long-duration operation with no intervention
  • Managed updates and backward compatibility
  • Modular architecture: one common base, capabilities activated on demand

Already in production

Our sensors run with no internet dependency and no close-range intervention, from the source to the last metre.

03 · AI

Edge AI & embedded AI

Two scales of artificial intelligence close to the field: inference directly on the sensor (embedded AI / TinyML), and deported inference on a gateway or local node (Edge AI) when compute power or multi-sensor aggregation demand it.

  • Model compression and optimisation for microcontrollers
  • Anomaly detection and virtual sensors, with no connection required
  • Deported-inference architectures for multi-sensor aggregation
  • Models held in escrow: training data and weights stay controlled

Already in production

Our anomaly-detection and leak pre-location models already run directly on the sensor today: the “embedded AI” building block of this competence, already in production.

Precision instrumentation (illustration)
04 · SENS

Sensors & advanced instrumentation

Turning a physical phenomenon (electrochemical signature, vibration, magnetic field) into usable data, comparable over time.

  • Complementary electrochemical methods (conductivity, ORP, potentiometry)
  • Low-noise vibration listening at high sampling rate
  • Contactless magnetic reading (Hall effect), no hydraulic contact
  • Calibration, drift and joint reference with accredited laboratories

Already in production

The same electrochemical board and MEMS accelerometer serve quality, hydraulics and metering: one platform, several measurement methods.

05 · IOT

IoT & connectivity

Getting data from an isolated sensor to a platform, with no dependency on a carrier or a proprietary protocol.

  • Standard LoRaWAN radio, integrable into the existing public network
  • Fleet management: provisioning, supervision, remote updates
  • Open APIs (REST/MQTT) to GIS, CMMS and remote monitoring
  • Low-power architectures for fleets of several hundred nodes

Already in production

100% of our sensors communicate over standard LoRaWAN: no proprietary gateway, no captive protocol.

06 · DATA

Data processing, intelligence & valorisation

Turning a stream of raw measurements into actionable information: mapping, statistics, compliance, forecasting.

  • Multi-sensor, multi-format collection and aggregation pipelines
  • Advanced statistics, anomaly detection, non-parametric trends
  • Forecasting and early warning, assisted regulatory compliance
  • Open restitution: dashboards, exports, API; never a silo

Already in production

The VizO platform delivers this full chain for water today (mapping, compliance, forecasting, AI assistant), with models held in escrow.

Water: treatment & filtration

07 · WATER

Water: treatment & filtration

07 · WATER

Water: treatment & filtration

Where this whole technical stack meets its subject matter: instrumenting and securing water, from source to tap, down to a decentralised treatment barrier at the point of use.

  • Quality and hydraulic instrumentation across the five water matrices
  • Decentralised filtration at the last metre (Tap module)
  • Regulatory support: drinking water, wastewater, surface water, shellfish waters, pools

Already in production

The Tap module and the five matrices covered today are proof that this technical stack also knows how to specialise: down to the last metre.

How we engage

From idea to industrialisation.

A design-office engagement is built step by step, with a possible exit point at each stage: no long-term commitment imposed upfront.

  1. 01

    Scoping & feasibility

Technical audit, state of the art, feasibility analysis: we qualify the problem before the solution.

  2. 02

    Prototyping & proof of concept

A working demonstrator, tested under real conditions, to validate the technical hypothesis.

  3. 03

    Co-development & integration

Joint development through to product, integrated into your information system and processes.

  4. 04

    Industrialisation & transfer

Move to series production, supplier qualification, competence transfer to your teams.

Confidentiality

Your project, your property.

A design-office engagement starts, if needed, with a mutual non-disclosure agreement. The developments carried out for your project belong to you; Drop! does not reuse, publish or cite your project without your explicit agreement.

Proof, not promise

What this competence has already delivered.

We don’t offer a theoretical competence: every building block of this stack is first our own, proven on our own platform before being offered externally.
